Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

anti-defamation and wrongful termination

I was the service consultant for a Volkswagen dealer.I was the advisor who wrote up the most clients, brought in the most revenue and always was the top grossing service consultant.I am a Jewish and a second generation Holocaust survivor. There is a new service advisor who just started on Monday, March 22 and was offered a promotion to stay with more responsibility and pay because he said he was going to leave but was asked to stay on by the General Manager.I was asked to leave.

I have put up with many anti Semitic remarks like a technician walking around saying ''seig heil'' or ''yavol mien fuhrer''. Also a fellow worker mistaking Martin Luther Kings birthday with Hiltlers. When I won a part of the Super Bowl Pool, a comment was made ''leave it to the Jew to win money!'' another worker making a ''dirty Jew'' comment which was not directed at me but said in general.

Re: anti-defamation and wrongful termination

Is your supervisor aware of these issues. You should make a complaint with the Human Resources office, if they don't put a stop to the abusive behavior you may want to consider filing a complaint with the EEOC.
