Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
I have just been asked to be reinstated to my job after filing a charge with the EEOC and being teriminated. After sending a letter to my job to be rehired, I have learned that there was a mass email that went out to the cooridnators in thagency telling them that I was fired. Being that I was discharged due to being out on disability, the fired statement is untrue. Also being reinstated, can they actually send this email out? Would this be considered slander, defermation of character? Can I file another charge with the EEOC? Could this be a bad sign considering Im going back to work?

It appears that you do have a viable claim of unlawful discrimination; however, this is a limited question and answer website and it is difficult to give you a definitive answer without knowing the details of your claim. It would be in your interest to consult with an employment law attorney to assist you you in prosecuting your claim.
