Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I have asthma and the office where I work allows smoking. I've got a cold which exacerbates my asthma so I tried to get them to change my hours so I'm not working with the heaviest smoker. They refused. Either I work that day and hurt my breathing further, or I lose my job. Do I have any legal recourse?
