Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I am a "Black-Female", hired by a "Minority-Puerto Rican Male" owned organization. During the interview process and thereafter, I identified numerous prejudicial comments made by my prospective enterviewer/owner of the organization. Some of which involved age, race, religion and gender. Writing off his comments as ignorance on his part, I accepted his written employment offer outlining my monetary and benefits compensations. Much to my surprise, things changed seemingly daily resulting in the last adjustment of 33% less money my last paycheck.

I am writing to find out what rights I have since there is a signed agreement just issued three months prior.

Regardless of whether or not you have an employment contract, the laws governing unlawful employment practices are applicable to your situation. Therefore, you may pursue a claim against your employer -depending on the number of employee- either through the EEOC or the State or City Human Rights agencies. But before you proceed with any complaint, I would strongly suggest that you discuss your situation with an employment law attorney.
