Bonus Payment
I was employed with a company in 2007 and voluntarily left employment in February of 2008. As the Managing Director of the company I had a written agreement (employment offer letter) that if I achieved a certain financial goal in 2007 I would receive 10K in bonus. It did not say anything about needing to be employed on the payment date. They refuse to pay, any recourse?

Just as a non-compete clause in an employment agreement would survive the termination of employment, so would a promise to pay you.
A simple lawsuit in your local civil/district court on contract should clear this up; I bet you could do it pro se and get somewhere with it.
Of course, being blackballed for suing employers is a possibility; I would keep my ears out for possible slanderous statements by your employer, which are always actionable.
