Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I am a child care provider and I was recently along with other employees a subject in a maltreatment of a child in our care. After several phone calls to ACS to find out the status of the case, I was informed that the has "indicated" me as a person that had some credible evidence has been found. I have requested the full report from the State Register. How does this "indicated" status affects more future ability to work with children. How can I obtain a lawyer to assist me in the appeal process?
