Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
I am currently a co-manager for rite-aid;I am on suspension(unpaid)for the last 8 days.I admitted to drinking alcohol on the job when i was going thru a rough patch.I spoke to the district manager and he said no decision has been made.I learned thru friends and one of the supervisors that store manager has told everyone in the store and two store managers in other stores the reason I was fired. One of the conditions of admitting my guilt was based on confidentiality I was told;"nothing leaves the room".My district manager sounded nervous when I presented with these facts.Do I have any options? Thanks Mike

Mike, you may have legal recourse; divulging damaging information about an employee breaches confidentiality and that can be a problem for the employer. Visit www.martindale.com or www.lawyers.com to find an employment attorney in your geographical area. DO THIS SOON; the statutes of limitation on employment matters can be very short.
