Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
discrimination?
Can your workplace make you take out a body piercing or cover up a tattoo even though neither are offensive in any way? What if they have allowed it and even hired people with them for the last 2 1/2 years?
Thanks

Re: discrimination?
If it doesn't show, or has nothing to do with the job, generally they can't force you to comply with such rules, but religious organizations are exempt as are certain other corporations from this . Basically that lets them regulate Sunday School teachers and similar employees.
If they have allowed it in the past, the question is why are they changing the rule?
