Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Not sure if I'm still employed?

I had a personal problem with someone at work who complained to HR on a Tuesday and they sent me home early and would contact me on Thursday with a resolution. On Wednesday I was put out on FMLA by my doctor. I didn't hear from anyone officially on Thursday but I heard rumors that I was fired. On Friday I received the contents of my desk in a box. I no longer have remote access to my computer and my work # has been turned off. I still have not received a call or a letter. I'm seeing a therapist now and I'm experiencing a high risk pregnancy. At this point I am ashamed to go back to work since everyone knows I'm terminated except me. Should I call and ask about this or should I have a lawyer do it for me? At this point it's streeful not knowing if I have any benefits from being fired.

Considering your current condition, it is urgent that you speak with an attorney to ascertain your employment status, your healthcare coverage, and your rights under the FMLA. To arrange for a consultation, please email or call. In the interim period, do not speak with anyone in your office or sign any documents.
