Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
I was employed as a waitress at a restaurant. On 8/24/09 I was scheduled to work, but I found out from a doctor that I had a contagious ear and chest infection. She gave me an antibiotic, and a note to give to my employer saying I shouldn't would. I went to the restauarant and gave it to my boss, and he told me to go home. He called me later to tell me I was fired. Is this wrongful termination? Am I entitled to any compensation? I have been unemployed and on unemployment since then.

Yes, he can terminate you and there is not likely to be a claim for wrongful termination unless it is related to race, gender, nationality, disability etc. etc. You should still be covered for any medical benefits if it can be traced to a job related injury.
