Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I need to know if my former employee must indemnify me from a lawsuit filed agai

I recently left a job. A few weeks after leaving, a former employee sued my former company for racial discrimination. They also named me personally in the lawsuit. Is my former employer obligated to defend me? Is my former employer obligated to indemnify me from the costs of this lawsuit? I was employed in New York, and the purported discrimination occurred in New York. I live in New Jersey, and my company is headquartered in Pennsylvania.

They are probably not obligated to defend you or indemnify you unless you were promoting company policy, on the other hand they would be foolish not to want to defend you as you would be foolish to not seek your own independent counsel.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.
