Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
employee submitted her resignation last Friday 5/25 and gave a two week notice. She arrives to work on Tuesday (Monday was a holidy)and she put in a request to use an earned vacation day. Instead of granting her the day, they informed her that today can be her last day and she is fired. Is that legal? She works in a call center for a Jewish health care center

The employee can be fired for any non-discriminatory reason, but it was definitely in poor taste for the company to conduct themselves in this manner. There may be an additional issue to consider, which I would be happy to discuss over the telephone with you.
