Re: employee termination verification

There is no special rule that limits what employers can say so long as it is true and reasonably related to the employee. As a pratical matter employers generally do not provide defamatory information absent peculiar or special circumstance . If the is a recent employment you may want to hire an attorney to explore the possiblity of limiting what this employer will provide in verification.
