Can my employer cut my salary?

Prior to my return from maternity leave, my employer agreed to allow me to work 2 days from home and 3 days in the office. My employer did not mention anything about reducing my salary from what it was before my maternity leave. About 6 weeks after I returned to work from maternity leave, my employer advised that he was going to cut my salary. Can he do that?
