Re: employer headquarters relocation
Some questions need to me answered. For example, do you have an employment contract, company handbook or anything in writing addressing the company's policies that may address some of your questions as to severance pay? If not, then the amount of severance pay, if any, is something that your company may or may not offer you. It would not hurt to ask for one if you feel entitled to it. To find out about unemployment insurance, the best thing would be to obtain more facts regarding your termination or resignation and check with your local State unemployment office. There is also a website that provides some useful information. As to the WARN notice, it is unclear what you mean. It appears to me that you already seem to be aware of the company's changes that impact on your job.
Re: employer headquarters relocation
Last time I checked, the WARN notice is required for any such closing if the employer employs over 25 personnel at this location. Failure to provide WARN notice may entitle you to automatic severance pay. In any case, certainly you would be entitled to unemployment benefits (assuming you are otherwise entitled to them). You are not required to relocate to keep the job.
