Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Can an employer (law firm) require an employee (associate attorney) to provide 30 days' notice to voluntarily terminate the employment relationship (i.e., resign)? Please note that the employment contract is governed by Illinois state law (law firm is based and incorporated in Chicago), but the office at which I work is in New York City.

Such provisions enforceable whereby the employer may deny any discretionary bonus money payable post termination or a favorable reference rather than a neutral reference because you breached the thirty-day notice requirement.
