Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Former employer refuses to pay me

I worked at this pizza place for about 2 weeks, i couldn't stand my boss. He would always hit on my young female friends when they walked in etc. So i decided to just quit instantly. I left on bad terms. The never had me fill out a W2 form when i started working there..they kept telling me we'd eventually get around to it. I worked for about 60 hours total, they owe me around $400-500 dollars. I've attempted to contact them many times but they refuse to answer my call, or return them. Is there anything i can do legaly?

Thanks!

Re: Former employer refuses to pay me

It is illegal for your employer to refuse payment to you under these circumstances. You are entitled under both federal and ny state law to be paid not only what's owed but likely an amount equal to that as "liquidated damages." Additionally your former employer may be responsible for attorney's fees and costs required to recover the unpaid wages. I regularly handle these cases throughout FL, NY and NJ. Feel free to call me for a free consultation at (877)456-WAGE.
