Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
New employment non-disclosure of compensation
I just started working for a car dealership as a salesperson. I was told I would receive $500 per week for 4 weeks for training and then go onto a draw plus commission. My employer never showed me or had me sign a compensation agreement and put it off when I did ask to see one. I received my first paycheck and it was only for $320, not $500. Is there any law that forces an employer to show an employee how much and how they are to be paid?

Re: New employment non-disclosure of compensation
No, but there is common law against breach of contract, and if you were told $500/week, then you're entitled to $500/week, unless they're deducting taxes and that's bringing down to $320/week.
It may cost you your job to demand full payment, but then again, you have to ask why you'd want to continue to work for an employer who lies about compensation.
