Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

was fired at 8 months pregnant, when asking for a dr recommended reduction in hours. this was the end of a blatant pattern of sexual discrimination. hired a nyc firm, after consulting and was told by the lawyer we had a great case and to def sue. he then took a retainer fee and sent a demand letter to the defendants. they promptly answered with an offer to reinstate me. my lawyer says we have been checkmated. what am i to do? we still have yet to file the eeoc complaint based on his recommendation. he is pushing me to accept offer, and he is demanding 10,000 plus my retainer from them, and nothing for myself. can you help

If you had a great case, a good lawyer would have taken it on contingency where the lawyer would not get paid unless they won and then would get a percentage usually 33-50%. It sounds like you have a bad lawyer who is cheating you. Please call my office for a free consultation. I am licensed in New york and California . 650-345-9200
