Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
Firing? What should I do?
I work for a large company, in my appraisal, which I am disputing, my boss put in claims that I have documentation are false. I was responsible for scrapping some product that we make, although I followed the procedures at the time. We rewrote the procedures after that incident to accomodate what went wrong so it wouldn't happen again. He wrote that I didn't follow the new procedure, although that wasn't implemented at the time. He also commented about me missing a mandatory meeting, that wasn't mandatory at the time I missed it. He sent an email making it mandatory on the day we discussed it. He also makes comments about my affecting department morale. My job keeps me away from most of my department, so I have little contact with them. The people I do have contact with, I get along with very well. Also, for the past 2 years I have medically documented stress issues that I never had before this boss. I believe they are caused by the constant threats I recieved from this boss. We already have another guy from the department that had to go on long term disability for stress. I have a feeling I'm getting fired tomorrow. I got angry after my boss threatened to fire me again and swore at him and slammed the door. Do I have a case here?
