Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
i the front desk/resident manager at a motel along with the position comes an apartment. when i accepted the position i informed the owner and genral manager that i was pregnant. about 2 weeks before i went out for maternity leave i was told that i would have to pay rent for the 6 weeks i would be out. i had not been asked to pay before or after maternity and during my leave i was still employed and held the position. is this legal?
