Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I was injured at work and received a deep laceration to my hand that almost removed my thumb. So far all things have been covered by workers comp. my question is that if the employer had prior knowledge that could have prevented my injury example similar accidents on the same piece of equipment had happened at 2 other plants. Also a option could have been bought that would that have avoided this from happening. What legal options do I have?

Workers Comp laws exist to maintain a peaceful relationship between an employer and injured employee. They have no bearing on defective equipment or products liability. Furthermore, in certain types of occupations in New York (I.e. construction) other laws permit suits against negligent employers. I would advise you to speak with an attorney. Contact my office by email if I can be of further assistance.
