Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I was just let go from my job due to elimination of the position from the compant that bought out my previous employer. I had a guaranteed base plus commission and car allowance until sept 30th. Is the severance suppossed to be what the guarantee is or not? Also what about medical insurance.
