Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
hi - i've been at a new job for 3 weeks now and it's different from what was described to me during the interview process and i'm not happy at all. i know that as a practice, the company does not contest unemployment claims therefore, if i decide to resign will i have a chance to collect unemployment benefits?

In the first place you need a minimum of eighteen weeks of covered employment to qualify for unemployment and secondly, if you resign, the company can contest your claim for benefits.
