Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
Laborer's Unions
Hi, Is it possible to settle with a union for unpaid dues? They have filed a complant, asking for principle, interest, costs, attorneys fees, liquidated damges, etc.? Does the employer generally have to pay the entire amount asked for or is there anyway to negotiate a lower amount? Thanks.

You can always negotiate any reasonable settlement. Success and settlement amount will depend on how strong your case is and the eggregious nature of the act among others.Be careful this may involve fraud.
