Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I was laid off June 9th. Bout 3 weeks ago my job I was laid off from startEd depositing large sums of money. In total they have deposited over 10,000 dollars. They have contacted me and informed me this was an error. Before receiving these funds I was extremely depressed rent was 2 months due, cable con ed etc. When I received the money I saw it as a blessing and paid my home bills, school bills, you name it. Is there any legal action that could be brought against me?
