Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Can manager be personally responsible for the actions of its employees resulting from drunkenness? Is there case law on this i can point to?

For example if I am managing at a hotel or cruise ship and an employee gets drunk and hurts someone am I personally liable? Note I did not serve the alcohol and they were not suppossed to be drinking (not a party etc)

It's possible if you were negligent in your supervision of the employee and did not take reasonable steps to address the dangerous situation before injury occurred.
