Misrepresentations in employment
Employer hired individual to fill an executive position replacing employers brother. Employer represented that he had the ability and willingness to make the change. After one month, employer disclosed that his brother was a partner and that he was unable to make the change and terminated the individual for that reason only. Is there a cause of action for misrepresentation and the resulting damages ( severence and foregone opportunities)that can be made?

Re: Misrepresentations in employment
I would need more details but it seems like there
MIGHT be a cause of action here. It would depend
on other factors not mentioned in the posting, including what the person was doing before hire, whether they had to relocate, etc.; some of these go to damages, others to liability. Too complex to discuss here. You may e mail us privately giving further details and we will post here.
