Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Getting Paid

My company has recently told us that they are shutting our office down and laying us all off. My question is whether or not they have to pay us if we take time off to go on job interviews since they are firing us?

Re: Getting Paid

Unless you have a contract which deals with personal time or vacation time, they do not legally have to pay you for time you take off for your own benefit.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.
