Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
parking at work
does an employer have the right to tell you you have to park several blocks away and be bused to the job site because the employer promised the school they are working for they would bus thier employes to the site (which is a school) so the workers didn't take up a lot of parking the only thing is the parking is on city streets and the bus the employer has, only picks up 1st thing in the morning and after work no bus at lunch time. the employees decided to park in a supermarket parking lot which is closer so they can go to lunch in thier cars the employer made them drive back to the designated parking and had no way to get lunch is this legal thank you

Re: parking at work
Hey, this is an employment at will state. The employer, absent clout on your part, and/or a collective bargaining agreement, if you have a union, is free to make the rules. You are free to get another job if you don't like them. That is the current, unfortunate state of the law.
