Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Present or past tense?

Sorry this is a bit out of context. My non-compete states that i cannot seek or solicit business from 'clients whom [former employer] has business or arranged business relationships'.

Looking for opinions on if this means 'present and--name removed--clients' or just 'present clients and other current business arrangements'.

I've never heard of a--name removed--compete stopping me from working with--name removed--clients, but that is what my--name removed--employer is claiming.

Thoughts?

Your email was chopped up quite a bit by Lawguru for using names. Try to re-post it without the names.
