Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Put on administrative leave with pay

My husband made a few monkey sounds around some black co-workers..He was joking around..He was put on administrative leave and told he would be called into the corporate office to discuss it when the investigation was over..He had a perfect work record and received many letters of recommendation from his supervisors..We believe the reporting worker was angry at his getting lots of overtime and praise...It has been 3 weeks of excused pay and my husband isnt allowed to talk to anyone at work..He cannot find out how the procedure works and no one in human resources will give him any information as to how this open door procedure workks..I am in bad health and this worrying is making me sicker..It is a major fortune 500 company in nyc.

Re: Put on administrative leave with pay

Your husband should consider himself lucky to have gotten off so lightly. I wouldn't complain about his treatment if I were you, the company probably had grounds to fire him, no further pay.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.
