Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
I ask for and received a lump sum relocation assistance from my company 3 months ago when I moved from CA to NY. I was never told what it entailed and all I signed was a form from a third party vendor company my company has a contract with, indicating that if they overpaid the agree amount, they could withdraw it from my account. I am now leaving the company and they say I should have been given and signed a relocation agreement stipulating a payback schedule should I leave before two years. Given that I did not receive this agreement, am I required to pay the company back?

No, you are not. And if the company continues to harass and threaten you, please feel free to contact my office so we can send a Cease and Desist letter to them.
Good luck!
