Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I was recently terminated from Carrols LLC for breaking company policy. I was robbed at knife point while taking two deposits to the bank at the same time. Policy is to only take one deposit at a time. Although every manager knows the cash handeling procedures the practice of taking more than one deposit at a time was very common through out the five stores that I had worked over the past 7 years. I had witnessed many of my superiors, when I was an assistant manager take more than one deposit to the bank at a time. My question is do I have grounds to file suit against Carrols LLC for wrongful termination?

Regardless of whether the policy exist you do not have a claim in a court of law; however, should you be denied unemployment benefits, you may introduce the multiple deposit practice -in an administrative hearing- as a common event and it should not be a disqualifying event for the payment of benefits.
