Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
i resigned from my job in july because i relocated too far to commutte everyday.I was asked to stay on and work from home and only commute two days a week. i was recently fired.Does my resignation hold up even though they asked me to stay on 4 months after it was written?

It sounds like you would be classified as a terminated employee, which may be a benefit for you in this economy. If you were fired, you may be eligible for unemployment insurance. Unless you work in an occupation where termination of employment could be a negative or you were fired "for cause," it should not make that much difference to you.
