Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Salary Issues/Discriminatory Issues

. I have an iissue with my manager using the "N" word at work and some of his off color innuendos. His attitude toward me at work is very condescedning. I have brought up the issue with my general manager regarding this .My g.m. showed that he has no tolerence for this kind of behavior, however, since I asked it to be kept confident, the most he would do is talk to my sales manager and see that this kind of thing will never take place. My sles managers attitudes never stopped, but his comments edged off a little and his blatant favortism is very apparent. 2 weeks ago when refferred to an Asain customer of our as a "F&*%^NG GOOK" My company is Korean. I have done the best I can as to keep track of certain incidents inc. dates and times.

I was hired in at a set salary. I recieved my hire letter on Feb. 5,99. that letter stated the amount . On APril 7, 99 I recieved a letter stating that the pay plan has changed from 30,000 per year to 6.00 per hour + comission. I spoke to a lawyer, she said this does not seem legal, to pursue it like it might have been some sort of bait and switch, however, since this is not her field contact an attorney

Unless you have an employment contract, I am afraid it is perfectly legal. Your option is to

quit. Wish it were otherwise. Unless, they enticed

you into this state from another, or enticed you

away from a good job with their promises. Then you should see a lawyer.
