Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
sales commission compensation
I gave notice and moved to a new career.
I was previously employed and paid with base salary and commission on net sales exceeding $1.5M (fiscal year starting in July). Commision were paid one month after product (apparel) was shipped.
I would like to be paid on confirmed sales made prior to the end of my employment. The employer does not want to pay as I am not employed when product is shipped. Am I entitled to this commission that I earned?

It depends on whether these provisions are covered by your employment agreement and the customs and practice of commission payments in your industry. You may contact my office if you wish to pursue this matter.
