Legal Question in Employment Law in New York
Sign or be FIRED
My husband was recently forced by his employer to sign a contract that stated his employer had the full right to review any medical history or future medical incidents without having to inform my husband and I about it. They told him that if he did not sign he would be fired. The next day after having been forced to sign they layed him off. My first question is do they have the right to force him to sign a paper, and if he does not do they have the right to fire him? My second question is whether or not it is legal for his employer to be able to have any medical information they so desire regardless of my husbands or my wishes? And finally based on all of this are we able to sue them for what they have done?

Re: Sign or be FIRED
If what you say is accurate, the contract can be invalidated and the company probably acted unlawfully.
