The situation: An applicant began filling out an online application for an open job position. A major aspect of the application involves at least an hour long mandatory assessment, which asks personal questions about character, preferences, attitude, and so forth. The applicant has no choice but to partake in this survey to be considered for the job. There is no time limit to the application or to the assessment process and there is the option to save and continue for later completion. The applicant filled out basic contact information and was then prompted to complete the assessment. After the lengthy assessment process was completed and automatically submitted separately, the applicant received an email informing that unfortunately the applicant was not selected for the position. The applicant did not have a chance to fill out the rest of the application which asks for very relevant information, such as work experience, skills, references, availability, the electronic signature, and so forth. Without a completed application, the employer should not be able to make an informed judgment whether or not this applicant should be hired. Also, the applicant should be given a fair chance by being allowed to thoroughly represent their qualifications and potential. If inaccuracy and unfairness in employment consideration makes this case into a legal issue, what course of actions should be pursued?

Is this a legitimate company or an identity theft scheme? There are websites that appear to be from legitimate companies but there sole purpose is to obtain your personal information. You should try telephoning the company -not from the phone number that appears on the application's website but from a number obtained through a telephone operato-r and make an inquiry on your job application.
