Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I was suspended from work due to an arrest that had nothing to do with my job. They found out and suspended me pending the outcome of the case. I was found not guilty and it has been 7 weeks and my employer is still giving me the run around. ive been in limbo all this time and they keep telling me they are working on it. So i guess my question(s) is how long is to long? can i do anything legally about speeding up this process? I need to get back to work. 7 months to wait for a decision is way to long. they also have to pay me for that time i was out correct?

Thanks, will

Will, no one can tell you if you're entitled to be paid because you didn't clarify what your employer's policy is and whether they agreed to pay you. Usually, in a situation like this, you would not be paid during your time 'under suspension'. You also said 7 weeks at first, followed by saying 7 months.

In any event, you should probably consult with local counsel about how to best handle this matter.

Good luck!
