Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Tansfer of funtion. CSL 70.2

The county I am currently employed by as an employment counselor has recently notified six counselor, me included, that we will be transfered to another department, and quoted civil service law 70.2. Currently my office employees 20 employment counselors. The transfer of function is not being based on seniority. Does the law require that it based on seniority?

Only if that requirment is a part of your collective bargaining agreement. If you think there has been a violation you should file a greivance with your union rep.
