Can I be terminated from employment for refusing a reassignment to another position for personal reasons?

Yes, and you could be denied unemployment benefits for insubordination unless the reason for your insubordination falls within a protected category (e.g. unlawful workplace discrimination; severe financial hardship (transferred out of city)).
