Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Termination from job after ten years without reasonable cause

I would like to know if a person is terminated from a job after ten years without reasonable cause, if there were any legal issues that could fought against employer.

Also if this were to happen during leave of abscence, if this is legal and what could be done about such action

If there is no employment contract in effect between employer and employee, the relationship is "at will" meaning that either party may sever the relationship with or without cause. If they terminated you during leave, it depends on what type of leave you took. Some "leaves" are protected by employment statutes, but I do not have enough info regarding this issue.
