Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Termination Short Term Disability benefits ended

My employer terminated me on the same day that my STD benefits ended. They terminated my health and benefits effective that same day. All this without warning, or prior notification, or receipt of COBRA forms- In fact, I have not received anything at all in writing from them except for a form letter dated the day following the mailing stamp- Now I foundout that the benefits administrator forwarded my LTD paperwork to the incorrect carrier- So now I have no income no health benefits, I cannot fillm prescriptions, see my dr. etc.... there is a lot more involved here but this is my immediate concern---My question: What, if any legal recourse is there?

The first thing to do is to determine whether your termination was legal or not. The next step is negotiating either a severance package with your employer or taking additional legal action.
