Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Told to quit

My prior employer questioned me as to why my quota was not met. when I explained to him he told me ''either do a better job or quit'' I was doing the best I could so I quit. He has denied my unemployment and I have not been able to find work. I have an unemployment hearing comming up next week. I am scared that they will side with him. (the conversaton with my employer was via Instant message and I have a copy of it) Do I have a chance at getting my unemployment and is the copy of the instant message admissable as evidence?

Re: Told to quit

Yes to both questions but it may not happen either. Next time you will have to say "if you are not happy, fire me."

Good luck
