Verbal Contract and other question
I have two questions. First is how many hr is it legal for a salery employee to be asked to work in a week? The second is if I was told by my distrect manager I was next in line for a Store and then one came up and I did not receieve it is that a breach of contract?

As for your first answer, a "safe" number of hours to work is dependent on the field and whether its regulated. Generally speaking the work week for most people consists of approximately 40 hours.
As for your second question, unless there was a formal agreement or unless you gave up something in consideration of the boss' promise or can prove that you changed your position in any way in reliance of your boss' promise it will be impossible to prove that a contract was created merely based on your boss' statement that you were next in line.
