Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

My wife was pregnant and was put on bed rest !!! She received disability checks with ended the day she gave birth, too our understand the maternity take over with is 12 weeks of full pay !!! Her employer told her she has too be back too work by Oct 1 she just gave birth on 9-31 -10 and she can only get 12 weeks combined is this right?

It looks like there is a question of whether she was on maternity or disability leave and the employer is looking for a loophole to terminate your wife's employment that may be a violation of the Pregnancy Act.
