Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

my wife works for a large company going thru their third round of layoffs she has made it thru 2round now but they just announced ther 3rd and the first to times were bad enough she gets depressed and anxiuos and ijust dor a number on her and me we don't know if we will be able to make it i'm on disabilty my question is there a case for mental anguish or something of the sort from this company?
