Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I work at a bank. they were reassigning everyone Monday morning to a new banking location, due to our office closing. I called in and was told that I was fired, with no type of notice. I was there working Saturday with all of the bosses, and was never apprised of anything. is this legal?
