Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

I worked for a company in 2006-2008 in 2012 they found checks in my name hidden away these checks I had to do my 1099 meaning I never recieved them but none the less when the IRS sent me what I had to pay I just paid it what can I do cuz till now I have not recieved these checks it's been six weeks since the new management took over

They have to turn over the checks. The statute of limitations on a contract in the state of New York is six years. That means that you may lack the legal grounds to recover payments made more than six years ago (prior to July 2006).
